Eyes are open!

My babies have opened their eyes! And they are really trying to walk! They push up so bravely on their front legs and have a woobly half stand. I am going to post some pictures Mommy took when they were on their way to bed. We never sleep anywhere without Mommy.......so when she goes upstairs to bed we go too! The babies have two special crates with warmers until they are 3 weeks and can regulate their own body temperature, one downstairs in the kitchen during the day and one upstairs in the bedroom. Anyway, Mommy or Daddy carry them upstairs in a small box. Right now because they are so small the box is smaller than a dish pan!

Mommy hasn't found the perfect family for Mimi yet........but she will find one. She always is so careful to find exceptional homes for my darlings! Notice in the pictures that Vova (the little boy) is so fat he loves to sleep on his back! Mimi was pretty sleepy too.

Latest pictures and news

I am feeling very good! I am able to leave the puppies for a little while now. But I have to check on them often! Mommy is going to groom me this weekend - my spa time after the births!! My little big fat boy, Vova, will be ready for his new home in about 6 weeks! Time is flying! My little Mimi, sweet girl that she is, is available still, but she will probably be sold by this weekend because Mommy says so many good families are looking at her.

I am letting Sunny a little closer to the puppies, but she has to keep a certain distance - these are MY babies! Sunny will have her first litter in February.

Enjoy the pics of my babies - I think they are the most beautiful Bichon puppies in the world - of course I could be biased............

Puppies have arrived

You are not going to believe this - but I just had my puppies in a hotel room!! I started about 7:00am until about 8:30 I have had 3 puppies! 2 boys and 1 little girl. All are nursing and I had all of them naturally - no vet needed! I am feeling good, eating and drinking. Mommy and Daddy decided to stay one more night and then head home tomorrow to let me rest.

So anyone who is wanting one of my darlings, please send Mommy an email bichonfans@aol.com

Bichons in the desert?

I have been so busy! I am doing very well, but my belly is about to hit the ground! I am being very careful about jumping up or down -I get Mommy or Daddy to lift me. I am on a cross country trip with Sunny, Mommy, and Daddy. We have driven from Michigan to Arkansas to California and we will head back through Salt Lake City and even Cheyenne, Wyoming then on back to Michigan. Right now we are in the High Desert of California. The desert sand is very interesting to walk on, but when we have stopped at McDonald’s or gas stations the zeroscape is very different, especially the gravel or stones and they are very hot!
I am not including any pictures yet because Mommy says we are not very clean – imagine white dogs in the desert!! And this morning, Mommy was about to let us outside in the back yard when she spotted a coyote right outside the fence – YIKES! So she waited awhile and walked us on the leash. I am so glad!!!

We have puppies on the way!

We are expecting in mid to late August! I was able to spend some time with my sweet beau and we make such beautiful babies. We had to tell each other goodbye with longing kisses. I started crying for him 10 miles from his house on our way there! He is just simply so handsome and manly.

My new sister Sunny is a wonderful addition to our family. She is so pretty and looks a lot like me. We have already competed in a couple of dog shows and she is scoring points quickly! Mommy thinks that Sunny will be a champion before she is a year old.

Mommy says some new pictures will come soon!

up up and away

Just a quick note tonight while Mommy is packing - she and I are flying to visit Grandma, Papa and Candy tomorrow. I love to go with Mommy anywhere and this time I get to fly in the plane! Even though the bag has to fit under the seat, it is worth it to be with Mommy and go visit!

Here is a picture of my last little puppy that is available - little George. Everybody else has found wonderful wonderful homes. This little guy is so spunky he would make a great stud or home companion! He loves to cuddle, but he thinks he is the king of the world at the same time - all in one sweet little package!

Spring update!

It is warm enough that the puppies and I can go outside together. We love to chase and run around together. They were heartbroken this morning when Mommy told them it was too cold for them. But they can go outside this afternoon. Henry has already gone to his new home to be with his new friend and fellow Bichon, Gidget. Jasmine (Shelly) and Zoe will go to their new homes Wednesday and Thursday of this week. That only leaves George and Chloe. So if there is anyone out there who is looking for a fabulous looking and very healthy puppy - give my Mommy a call!

Here are some pictures of the kids playing in my bed last night. Mommy bought that bed for me special so I had a place to rest with so many puppies! But they had fun playing king of the bed with each other last night. Jasmine especially loved the softness of it.

And here is a picture of Henry's new Mommy, Betsy, too. Mommy also took me to meet Sundance (Sunny) at her friend Fern's house. I liked Sunny. She looks a lot like me and is calm and easygoing. She hadn't ever been on the grooming stand and she let Mommy groom her for a long time. I think it might be how Mommy talks to us while we are on the stand, gives us treats and is very patient.:-) Anyway, Sunny is going to come and live with us in a couple of weeks. I will be glad for the companionship after all of the puppies leave. And we are going to do a dog show in May together!

Active babies!

I have been so busy with all of these babies! They are now walking and running around, playing with toys and each other. They each have their own distinct personality and they are so much fun to watch. I am starting to wean them though because they are too vigorous when I feed them! Plus, they are all eating solid food now too. All of the girls are sold, and the 2 little boys have people coming to look at them. They won't last long!

All of the kids are doing very well about paper training. Nobody pees or poops on the blankets now, only on the paper. yay! We will start going outside now that it is warmer too.

Here are some pictures that are about a week old - I will have to post some new ones soon. They just don't stay still very long ha ha! Mommy will have to take a picture of me too because I am looking pretty good :-)

The little one with the splint is Shelley. She had a hard time being born and her shoulder and elbow are dislocated. We are trying to save her arm, but it may not be possible. She is a beautiful smart little girl and gets around great with 3 legs!

Breaking news!

My babies have started opening their eyes today! They look a little funny because they will open one first and so they look as if they are winking at you. Little Chloe and Shelley have one eye open and Henri looks as if his are going to open any minute! So no pictures for a day or 2 to keep their little eyes safe!

Wednesday update

We went to the vet yesterday to get my stitches out - I only had one left in! Dr. Taylor doesn't know if I took them out or the puppies and I don't know either! Mommy has started mixing in canned puppy food with my dry food and I like that a lot better. Feeding 7 puppies is hard work! They are all growing very fast except Corky. She is steadily gaining weight, but just not as fast as the others. Once she gets on puppy food she will take off I am sure! She is just so little that she has a hard time with all of the competition. Mommy has me feed her often by herself and that helps her.

Mommy has a few new pictures of my darlings, but not any yet of everybody as individuals. She will have to do that tonight because they are really looking unique. Some of them have the cream on their face or ears that is really cute. And Spot still has his spot on his back. Henri and Spot are really cute and they don't have new families yet. Everybody else is spoken for.

Now that my stitches are out Mommy is going to give me a bath too! I look funny with the shaved spot on my leg where they put the IV in for the C-section, but it will grow back.

More soon!

Wednesday update

No new pictures yet, but they are all growing quickly! The littlest one gained 2 ounces in one day! And they are starting to show their little personalities already. I was tired today so Mommy and I slept in while she had a snow day. I just fed puppies and slept. Now tonight I am taking it easy on a soft bed while my babies sleep. Mommy is about to give me another bath - I cant stand to be dirty or smelly!

Mommy says that there are already 4 families who have chosen one of my darlings! She is very careful about who she picks to be life long caretakers of my babies so I am confident they will all be happy and healthy!

Pictures this weekend of each puppy as an individual!

At home already growing!

Well I am back at home with all my 7 babies and very happy to be here! I am feeling good and getting around really well. All of my babies are eating well and growing. The littest ones, Corky and Shelly are 4.5 ounces with Topsy at 7.5 ounces. There are 4 girls and 3 boys. I got a bath this morning and I feel so much better! Here are some pictures of our darlings.

the puppies are here!

I had one puppy fairly easily last night around 2:20, but Mommy took me to the vet and I had to have a C-Section. One little puppy had her head turned sideways and was only presenting one paw. Dr. Taylor and Mommy thought that the puppy was dead and so they hurried to save me and the other puppies with a C section. ALL of the puppies are alive. The littlest one who was caught is weak so Mommy is feeding her along with the puppy nursing. When I woke up after my surgery - Mommy brought my puppies to me and I started washing them right away!

So sleep and rest for today. After a sponge bath Mommy will take some pictures tomorrow. We are all really tired.

Oh- 4 girls and 3 boys! All very cute!

Still waiting!

Still no babies yet! Mommy and I went to see Dr. Taylor on Tuesday, and she said another day or two. My temperature seems to be dropping, and I am very restless tonight. I don't feel like nesting yet, which is one of the surest signs! I had better plan labor very carefully, because Mommy has to go to work tomorrow. So it is either tonight or wait until 4:30 tomorrow afternoon! Most of us have had our babies in the middle of the night. My second litter is the only time Mommy has had pups come during the daytime. So hopefully I can either hurry up or slow down ha ha!

My family is more nervous than I am! I know that these babies are going to come when they are good and ready!

Keep watching for updates!

Is delivery close at hand?

I think that delivery is getting very close now........I am staying very close to Mommy or my box and I had a long episode of panting (which usually signals labor). So Mommy thinks tonight or tomorrow. She isn't feeling good herself so I hope that I can have these puppies quick and easy just like Dr. Taylor said! Mommy will take pictures of my new babies as soon as I am feeling ok after all of them. More later?

Exciting news!

My muscus plug passed on Friday and now my temperature has dropped to 99.4! That means that delivery is 12 - 24 hours away. I am feeling restless, and am sticking very close to Mommy. She has everything ready for the delivery. I am hoping to have these babies in the daytime so I can go to Dr. Taylor if I need anything. But Dr. Taylor said these babies should pop right out one after another since they are smaller than the last batch. I will keep you up to date! I am just wanting 7 very healthy babies............

Doctor visit!

We went to the doctor yesterday and Dr. Taylor thinks she may see 7 babies! Oh my! I have been telling Mommy that I was having more than 5 this time. I weigh 16 pounds and still gaining.....last time I weighed 16 pounds right before I gave birth and this time I still have almost 2 weeks to go. My stomach doesn't have much room at all so I have to eat small meals throughout the day. And of course my bladder has even less room! goodness! But I am feeling good and Mommy and Daddy are giving me a lot of attention. Monday Mommy shaved my belly and you should see how big it is! Mommy will have to take a picture and show you what I mean! I go for more x rays next Tuesday so we will know more definitely how many sweet babies there are.
